Role Specific
Requirements
- Identified potential to become a Chartered Structural Engineer within 4-5 years
- Work in a design environment with regular exposure to developers, architects,
Project Managers, Contractors and local authorities
- Demonstrate excellent written and face-to-face communication, with clear and concise presentation
- Design of structural elements in all materials to current standards and practices
- Knowledge of design software such as TEKLA, TEDDS and Masterseries
- Ability to use AutoCAD and interrogate REVIT models
- Prepare NBS Specifications
- Prepare Calculation packs for submission to the Local Authority.
- Help prepare for, attend and record internal and client project meetings
- Co-operate with the Quality Management System through undertaking
administrative activities
- Carry the company brand and reputation through business development and
marketing input
Business Development
- Be active and proficient at marketing the company to all Clients either face to
face, via email or over the phone
- Assist colleagues in planning and delivering marketing initiatives to agreed costs and programmes
- Understand the company services, market sectors, specialisms, procedures and processes
- Assist colleagues with marketing the business, including Client satisfaction and maintenance of quality in respect of all business development activity
- Organising events including the proposal of guests when relevant, sending out
invitations, maps timings etc. as appropriate
- Represent the company at external meetings / events with Clients
- Assist in building effective relationships with Clients
- Have awareness of the market sectors within which the company operates or
aspires to operate
- Support the development of all company promotional media
