A rare opportunity is available for an Associate Director Civil Engineer with one of London's leading independent Transport & Infrastructure Consultancies.
You will be a self-starter, love working in a hardworking team and have a passion for the urban built environment, transport and highway infrastructure engineering and its challenges.
You will report into the Director of the Infrastructure team and be second in command of a team of 15. You will be leading projects, assisting with business development and general management of the team.

You will report into the Director of the Infrastructure team and be second in command of a team of 15. You will be leading projects, assisting with business development and general management of the team.
You will be able to demonstrate the following:
- You have a Civil Engineering degree, equivalent, or experience in similar technical engineering discipline
- Will be a Chartered Engineer (with the ICE/CIHT/similar)
- From concept through to detailed design, ability and in-depth experience in developing all aspects of transport and highway infrastructure, S278 schemes, urban street, public realm, and highway schemes
- Ability in surface and sub-surface drainage design
- Ability to oversee, check and approve the work of others in accordance with relevant design standards and codes
- Ability to successfully manage your own workload
- Ability to direct multiple projects simultaneously to budget and programme
- Ability to successfully support the work and career progression of others
- Ability to successfully manage and build credible client relationships, and develop new business development opportunities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills
- Ability to review designs in Civils3D, AutoCAD and the AutoDesk ecosystem
- Leadership from both a technical delivery and people management perspective
- Ability to keep control in pressed situations, deliver work within set timeframes and create a well-motivated team
- Ability to work with autonomy, make decisions and act on your own initiative
Desirable skills and experience:
- Experience in negotiating S278 agreements
- Experience in construction logistics and traffic management design support
- Experience working in BIM environments
- On site delivery experience, knowledge of scheme implementation, inspections, resident engineer duties
