Quantity Surveyor - Civil Engineering

Location: North West Of England

Due to continuing growth a vacancy has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor, ideally with a consultancy background in the North West of England. The successful candidate will join a long established multi-disciplinary team and work alongside other quantity surveyors, project managers, surveyors, engineers and senior professionals.

The workload will be varied and will cover both public & private sectors. Our strong pipeline of work is based upon repeat basis combined with new wins, with our strength being the support of our Health, Education, Commercial & Local Government clients.

Job Description:

Preparing and presenting order of cost estimates

Advising on procurement strategies

Preparation of tender documents (based on schedule of works, bills of quantities and employers requirements) and managing the tender process

Input into value engineering

Preparation of tender reports

Compilation of contract documents

Assessment and agreement of interim valuations

Making cost checks and preparation of financial reports

Dealing effectively with post contract cost variances and the change control processes

Negotiation and agreement of final accounts

Cost-in-use studies

Requirements

Minimum 2 years RICS APC experience

Sound cost management experience in professional practice

Excellent analytical skills and proficient in interrogating numerical and financial data

Sound presentation, verbal, written and communication skills

Personable and able to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with clients, in order to deliver a quality service and also maximise opportunities for repeat business

Proficient in a wide range of IT skills including Microsoft Office packages (specifically Microsoft Excel and Project.

Hold a full UK driving licence.
