The Opportunity: Senior Civil Engineer (Infrastructure)

We are looking for a Senior Civil Engineer (Infrastructure) to join a team of Engineers, Scientists and Technicians who collaborate with vibrant and dynamic teams with others throughout the Northwest of England and Yorkshire. They will be based in our Manchester office. They will be guiding and developing projects or technical components of projects. We are looking to increase our very busy team with a keen individual, vibrant and who would be professional qualified.

Our current projects are varied, exciting and often high profile including the fields of Infrastructure design (Utilities, Water and Drainage), Transportation (Rail and Road), Energy, Utility Provision, Site development and Master Planning. We work across all phases of projects from advisory, concept, through to detailed design and construction supervision. Our clients are varied including government agencies (both national and local), local authorities, private developers, contractors, and utility companies.

Is this role right for you?

We are looking for collaborative and vibrant colleagues with curiosity, personal drive, and technical know-how. You will be as inspired as we are by the problems we are solving and excited to help our clients and lead teams delivering the solutions. Experience in the UK Civil Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, Water Engineering and Master Planning sector is desirable. You will have some appreciation of the design project cycle, from conception and feasibility through to consenting and delivery. Furthermore, you will have a desire to collaborate and support the development of peers and junior colleagues. The list below speaks to our skill and experiential requirements:

  • Suitable Civil Engineering Degree, a master's degree or equivalent experience.
  • A recognised professional qualification (chartered status) with the Institution of Civil Engineers or equivalent (MICE)
  • Demonstrable experience within the field of civil engineering, specialising in Infrastructure design or brownfield regeneration
  • Experience undertaking design, checking of calculations and drawings to ensure high quality deliverables. Delivering civil engineering design projects such Public Realm schemes, Infrastructure projects, Water/Flood Alleviation scheme, Utilities or Site Development projects
  • Mentoring and supporting the development of younger engineers within the team.
