The Opportunity

Across the West of the UK, we have a team of 150+ multi-disciplinary water engineers working closely together on a wide variety of flood and coastal risk management, waste and clean water infrastructure and non-infrastructure assets.

We are seeking a principal water civil engineer, ideally located in Cardiff or Bristol, to help lead and/or manage a diverse range of projects within our major client portfolios. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about technical excellence and providing an outstanding service to our clients.

You will technically lead and/or manage projects to suit your skill set and preferred development needs. As a senior member of an established and growing team, you will mentor and delegate work amongst engineers and other specialists, supporting them with your experience.

Is this role right for you?

We are looking for a senior water civil engineer with curiosity, personal drive, and technical know-how. Engineering experience in the UK water sector or risk management authority sector is essential.  

  • A relevant degree and Chartered Engineer status.
  • Proven technical design lead for pressure pipeline schemes, and ideally experience in leading / working on pumping station projects
  • Experienced in outline and detailed design of potable water and sewer rising main pressurised pipelines
  • Experienced in the design of gravity sewer infrastructure projects
  • Proven skills in the commercial management of design projects including preparing fee proposals, preparing programmes, monthly reporting and submissions, AFPs, managing and coordinating design teams
  • High competence with pressure pipeline hydraulics, experience of using GIS and 3D CAD packages
