Excel are very pleased to have been asked to find an Environmental Test Engineer for our well known multinational client specialising in designing, testing and producing systems and solutions in support of Armed Forces all over the globe.
Your main responsibility will be planning, preparation, execution and result capture from various Environmental Tests on products from individual actuators and PCBs through to fully assembled operational defence hardware. You will be designing and planning specific test scenarios within an Integrated Project Team to test the effects of heat/cold, water ingress, vibration, radiation and other environmental conditions operating from a purpose built facility utilising an extensive range of tooling, data capture devices and other bespoke and generic hardware and systems.
Unusually this ET role includes all stages of testing from design right through to data interpretation - with extensive support and training provided - presenting a unique opportunity to develop skills and experience in a field that is becoming more and more intrinsic to modern manufacturing processes.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience of Environmental Testing including the set up and break down of equipment and will have background in automotive/aerospace or a similar industry - previous experience with MIL-STD-810 and RTCA DO-160 standards would be an advantage but is by no means essential as training can be given. The only other requirement is a commitment to personal development; in addition to well defined opportunities for career advancement with this client this experience gained in this role would be ideal for a variety of career routes within ET but also in other areas such as Project Management or System Test/Development.
