The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Alberta is seeking applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Construction Engineering and Management at the rank of Full Professor with tenure. The successful candidate will be appointed to a named chair position as the Hole School of Construction Engineering Chair in the Hole School of Construction Engineering Chair: https://www.ualberta.ca/engineering/research/groups/construction- engineering/index.html.

We welcome applications from scholars with expertise in the broad areas of construction engineering and management, and this may include but not be limited to the areas of planning and control, construction methods, modelling and simulation, artificial intelligence applications, digital twins for construction, equipment, and robotics for construction operations. Experience in computer simulation, artificial intelligence (AI) techniques and their applications, big data and data analytics, academic?industry partnerships, and/or automation and robotics applications in construction are an asset. Candidates who will work across disciplinary boundaries are particularly encouraged to apply. We are seeking scholars that are motivated to join and collaborate with our vibrant Hole School of Construction group as well as across the Faculty of Engineering, the University of Alberta, and the local communities and industry.

The successful candidate must have a PhD in Construction Engineering or a closely related field. They are expected to be or become a licensed Professional Engineer through the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA, https://www.apega.ca/). Licensure must be obtained within five years from the date of hire. Consideration will be given to candidates with a record of research impact, which may include publications in reputable, peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings, developing technology or software solutions, and addressing socio-economic or environmental needs, for example. Research, teaching, service, and volunteer work related to academia, communities, accessibility, inclusivity, and truth and reconciliation will be considered an asset.

The Hole School of Construction Engineering has helped the construction industry in Alberta improve its project and business performance by delivering cutting-edge tools and practices to construction owners, contractors, and tradespeople, while providing a unique training opportunity for highly qualified personnel. Our industrial research partnerships focus on advancing research, student education, and overall practice define the Hole School of Construction Engineering's research and graduate education programs. Our collaborative approach has garnered widespread support from numerous funding agencies, policymakers, and industrial practitioners and demonstrates our value of industry-relevance and partnerships. The Hole School of Construction Engineering is home to nine faculty members with over 15 partner companies, hundreds of graduate students, and over $3 million in annual research funding.
