Associate Structural Engineer

We are currently recruiting for aa Associate Structural Engineer to join a successful growing consultancy based in Gateshead. The Successful Associate Structural engineer will be accountable for features of the design work phase, working right through to the completion of the projects as well as assisting in managing one of our busy structural teams

The Project sizes range between 1m to 20m; predominantly working within the commercial and residential. The Senior Structural Engineer is expected to be a team player and will be able to work effectively with clients, building rapports and effectively managing the project undertaken.

It is Imperative that the successful candidate has a plethora of experience working with core structural materials such as concrete, steel, masonry and timber.

Associate Structural Engineer Position Overview

• Overall responsibility for delivery of projects
• Preparation of fee proposals for Director authorisation
• Delivery of scheme designs and input into scheme design reports
• Preparing designs for structural schemes.
• Creating detailed designs and calculations to British Standards
• Using advice given by technicians to create detailed design drawings and specifications for Tender and Construction purposes.
• Visiting sites during the Construction phase to monitor progress and provide advice to Contractors.
• Knowledge of MasterSeries.

Associate Structural Engineer Position Requirements

• Eng in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Chartered Membership or Associate Membership of the ICE or IStructE
• Qualitative and quantitative experience in building structures
• Minimum 8 years structural design experience in core materials; Concrete, Steel, Masonry, and Timber
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Technical design and drawing/sketching skills
• Team Player
• Competent Designer with Masterseries experience
