Job Details

The Construction Management Program at Western New England University (WNE) seeks applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level, beginning in Spring 2023. Candidates for this position must have a Ph.D. in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or a closely related field, and must have demonstrated ability or potential for excellence in teaching and research at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidate is expected to (1) teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in construction management, construction engineering, and related courses (e.g. Material Quality Control, Site Development and Soil Behavior, Construction Planning and Scheduling), (2) develop and maintain internationally recognized externally funded research, (3) pursue scholarly and service activities, and (4) lead national and international student competitions. Experience with experimental techniques is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:
College-level teaching experience (graduate TA experience acceptable)
Expertise in (but not limited to) Digital twin (e.g. cyber-physical modeling), Automation in Construction, AI applications in Construction, or Building-human interaction
Effective teaching and pedagogy skills appropriate to the position
Industry experience
Pursue professional licensure

The Construction Management Department is the newest department within the College of Engineering (COE) and offers Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Construction Management.  The COE offers BS degrees in Civil and Environmental, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Computer, and Biomedical engineering. It also offers MS and PhD degrees in multiple programs.
