Two Teaching Track Faculty Positions in Engineering (Energy, Environment, Health)

The Department of Engineering in the Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences at Boston College invites applications for two non-tenure-track teaching faculty positions in the areas of energy, environment and health at the Assistant or Associate Professor of the Practice level.  In exceptional cases, appointment at a higher rank may be considered. Candidates with expertise in  all areas of energy, environment and health will be given full consideration. The anticipated start date for this position is August 28, 2023.  

The Department  

Launched in Fall 2021, the Department of Engineering offers a Human-Centered Engineering major (B.S. in Engineering). The program positions students to tackle the technological, human,  and societal dimensions of major global challenges in health, energy, and the environment by integrating Boston College’s liberal arts foundation, engineering science and fundamentals, entrepreneurial practices, design and systems thinking, and service-oriented project experiences.  Our goal is to prepare students to become engineers for a better world. Anchored in a human-centered approach, engineering study at Boston College is bolstered by a global viewpoint, ethical underpinnings, and distinctive project-based experiences that address real-world  challenges. Qualifications  

Applicants must possess a doctorate in an engineering discipline or a related field by the start  date of the position. We seek faculty candidates who are committed to innovative undergraduate  engineering education, and driven by a desire to have a positive impact in both the academy and  the wider society. Successful candidates will demonstrate potential for innovative curriculum  development, excellence in teaching and mentoring of undergraduate students, and will be  committed to creating inclusive and equitable learning opportunities for all students.
