The Opportunity

Our vibrant and diverse Civil Engineering team in the Cardiff Office is looking for an enthusiastic and creative colleague to work with us on varied, exciting, and often high-profile projects. From your first day, you will join an unrivalled community of experts, where everyone is helped and encouraged in their career and fully supported to work towards a professional qualification. We work across all phases of projects from advisory, concept, through to detailed design and construction supervision. This will provide a high variety of interesting opportunities for you to learn and grow your experience and capabilities.

The role involves working within an experienced team, designing civil engineering elements such as sustainable drainage, streets and public realm, earthworks, utilities co-ordination, and flooding. We look for a collaborative and creative approach to finding and optimising solutions. As you gain experience, you will become responsible for defined parts of a scheme and individual projects, with the ability to check the quality and accuracy of your own and others work. Our team contains experienced ICE Supervising and Delegated Engineers with a wonderful track record of enabling and providing opportunities, help and support to gain professional qualifications and develop your career further.

Is this role right for you?
  • Passionate to provide a design solution which aims to improve sustainability and social value
  • Civil Engineering Degree in line with a technical specialism; a Masters degree, in a relevant field
  • Experience in schemes involving drainage design and earthworks, street design, public realm, utilities co-ordination and flooding
  • Background in CAD package (AutoCAD, MicroStation or similar) for designs and some knowledge of civil engineering design software packages (MicroDrainage, Civils 3d)
  • Interested in GIS, BIM, Digital automation and/or conducting design in a 3D or digital environments as well as Digital Design processes
