Position:                  PROJECT COORDINATOR II

Salary:                    $65,680 Annually

Department:           Engineering and Public Works/Traffic Engineering

Location:                 2300 N. Jog Road, WPB

Hours:                     8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday – Friday

Other:                     Valid Florida Driver’s License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment.

Technical work assisting the Professional Engineer and Senior Professional Engineer (Signal and Street Light Design Section) with all aspects of design and construction of traffic signals and streetlights. Duties include design, review, construction, inspection and coordination of County traffic signals, streetlights and intersection improvement projects. Coordinates with consultants, other County and State offices, utility companies and contractors. Complete assignments related to traffic as assigned by superiors. Exercises a high degree of independent judgement and initiative in planning, developing and implementing special projects and programs.  Receives guidance and general direction and is expected to independently develop and administer the assigned projects and programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering; minimum of two (2) years of experience in engineering work.  Equivalency: Related Master’s Degree and one (1) year of related experience.

PREFERENCE FOR EXPERIENCE WITH: Palm Beach County and State of Florida traffic standards and specifications and working with contractors; traffic signal design; consultants and utility agencies (must specify on application). Also desirable:  Engineer Intern (EI) License at time of application.
