Assistant Town Engineer

The Town of Waxhaw is seeking a professional, highly skilled candidate for the position of Assistant Town Engineer.  The position is responsible for the management and implementation of the Department and performs highly responsible engineering functions that are complex and technical in nature. Reporting to the Town Engineer, the Assistant Town Engineer assists in the development and implementation of the Town’s engineering components, exercising considerable judgement and discretion in accomplishing these objectives, and provides direction, supervision and guidance to the engineering staff. The incumbent in this position plans, designs, lays out, and estimates public works projects and coordinates and directs land survey work, including the development and review of land plans, taking and easement plans, and Town plans; The incumbent also represents the Town Engineer in engineering matters and acts as the Town Engineer in his/her absence.
