An opportunity has arisen for a Structural Engineer to join a multi-disciplinary consultancy in a specialist discipline. Along with a salary of up to £40,000 per annum (DOE), you will also receive a performance-related bonus, 24 days annual leave plus statutory days, a professional membership of up to two institutions per year, the flexibility to work from home two days per week, and progression to Chartered Engineer.You will be working in a number of sectors including Education, Commercial, Residential. This is a growing team, and the requirement has arisen as a result of an increase in specialist timber design projects. As Structural Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Structural calculations, preparing drawings and reports ready for checking by one of your senior colleagues
- Working to Eurocodes and British Standards (in particular Eurocode 5 and BS5628 design codes) as well as current CDM Regulations
- Working with Senior Engineers in project designs throughout the project life cycle
- Undertaking site investigations and inspections, identifying/resolving issues as appropriate
- Working closely with CAD Technicians overseeing their work to ensure designs are of the highest quality
- Representing the company at design team meetings with clients and other construction professionals.
- To be degree-qualified in a Structural Engineering discipline
- A proven interest in timber structures and sustainable construction
- Be familiar with AutoCAD, Revit and Tekla software (you don't need to be an expert - training can be given if needed).
