Structural Engineer

Our client is seeking a Structural Engineer with extensive experience in structural design to join their growing organisation. The Structural Engineer needs to be in the design of all of the regularly-used construction materials and building forms. As can be seen from the contents of our website, this Practice has a wide and varied workload and to deal with this, any candidate must have the following.

The ideal Structural Engineer will have previous experience in making design approvals, coaching and mentoring. Delivering small to medium design projects and bring new design ideas to the table to help shape the company's future. Having historical building experience is preferred but not essential.

Chartered structural engineer or near chartered
Able to carry out surveys and produce reports
A working knowledge of structural timber
Ability to deal with new enquiries and provide fee proposals for quotation purposes
Able to use AutoCAD and produce drawings and sketches by hand
Have an understanding and a real desire to work with historic buildings
Understanding and desire to work on projects where the aim is to provide ecologically sound and energy efficient buildingsStructural Engineer Position Requirements

The ability to use ingenuity and creativity to resolve complex engineering and wider problems
A good grasp of the behaviour of structures
BSc/BEng/MSc/MEng in civil and/or structural engineering
Minimum four years as design engineer
Full UK Driving License

Salary: £45k - £55k
