Civil Design Engineer

Experts in high voltage (HV) engineering with an excellent reputation for delivering turnkey projects encompassing design, installation, commissioning and maintenance, on behalf of clients in the renewables and industrial sectors, require a Civil Design Engineer due to meet continuing demand for their services.

Working on general HV projects, including substations, the Civil Design Engineer will be responsible for:

Producing cost-effective and technically appropriate civil designs
Production of design briefs to instruct external design resource
Providing technical support throughout project lifecycle
Management of external design resources to ensure civil design output accords with the business requirements
Auditing of in-house and external design work to ensure compliance with relevant standards
Financial management of expenditure associated with in-house and external design work to ensure completion within budget

Requirements:

Previous experience as a Civil Design Engineer within the engineering or construction sectors (essential)
Qualification in Civil Engineering
Ability to work with external engineering companies and stakeholders
Strong understanding of CDM regulations
Experience using AutoCAD and other relevant engineering software
A broad understanding of the principles of architectural detailing (concrete reinforcement, etc.)
Previous experience in the HV or utilities sector (desirable)
