Structural Engineer

An award-winning consultancy are looking to recruit both Senior and Intermediate level Structural Engineers to be responsible for the day-to-day management of projects to ensure projects are delivered within agreed budget and programme. Senior level candidates should be technically strong in steel, RC, masonry and timber design.

Duties:

Produce technical design information including drawings, calculations, specifications and reports
Review and check drawings prepared by graduate engineers
Plan site investigation works
Prepare feasibility studies and provide design advice
Prepare reports, senior level staff will undertake the project management and financial control of projects
Obtain and review quotes for investigation works, manage the appointments and work of sub-contractors
Attend and design meetings, site meetings and undertake site inspections
Undertake surveys and prepare reports
Produce designs, assessments and calculations
Liaise effectively with clients, local authorities and other design team members
Effectively manage own time and expenditure on tasks and support more junior staffSkills & Experience:

HND/HNC or above in Civil or Structural engineering is essential
Professionally qualified with ICE or IStructE is preferable for senior level roles
Must have a good understanding of engineering principles
Able to produce hand calculations and sketches of structural elements and have knowledge of design software
Must be conversant in designing to British Standards/Eurocodes
Competent in designing structures in concrete, steelwork, timber and masonry using CAD packages ideally SCIA and Tekla
Experience of new build and refurbishment projects
Good detailing knowledge and a good understanding of CDM regulations
Must be able to identify and define simple engineering problems and identify alternative engineering solutions to satisfy the client's brief
Experience in the production of specifications, technical reports and feasibility studiesBenefits:
