Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer

I am looking to speak with a Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer situated in Newcastle Upon Tyne to come and join a prestigious market leading multi-disciplinary consultancy working on complex large-scale design projects both locally in the UK and internationally.

My client are looking to increase their team to meet the growing demands in both the infrastructure sector, particularly rail, highways, industrial developments and MOD frameworks. They also work on massive projects in ground improvement such as energy from waste projects.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take a leading role in their current portfolio of prestigious geotechnical projects, as I am looking for a Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer with passion and enthusiasm to join an evolving team who are always striving to be the best in the industry. The successful candidate should have the flare to put their own stamp on the existing and future geotechnical design projects.

It is expected that the successful candidate is a technically robust Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer, with proven geotechnical design experience, with strong analytical capabilities as well as experience in numerical software such as GeoStudio and Wallap. It is expected that you have the ability to develop and lead geotechnical design teams, with the mentoring and development of junior engineers being of upmost importance.

Expertise with respect to the following core skills is expectedas a Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer:

Geotechnical analysis and design to Eurocodes for earthworks, retaining walls and foundations
Preparation of Desk Study Reports, GIR's and GDR's
Preparation of geotechnical specifications for construction works
CDM Regulations
Scoping, organising and supervising ground investigations
Leading and QA of geotechnical engineering analysis and design
Leading and mentoring of technical staff
Project Management
Geostudio Slope W /Seep W (or similar software)
