Senior Civil Engineer

Experienced Site Engineer based in and around Edinburgh required by our client, who is a civil engineering groundworks sub-contractor, to join them on a permanent contract. This is a fantastic opportunity for candidates with experience in residential, commercial, and industrial developments. As a Senior Engineer/Sub agent you will play a significant role at the heart of each of the projects you assist on, with the client providing the following groundworks services - Earthworks and ground modelling, Underground Drainage, Foundation Construction, Concrete Works, Formwork & Reinforcement, Roadworks, Hard and Soft Landscaping, Soil and embankment stabilisation.

As a Senior Engineer/Sub Agent, you will primarily be carrying out engineering duties, but will also be tasked with assisting to manage the site as well. You will be predominately based on one primary project, with a value ranging from £800k to £1.8M, but with an overlap from the previous project until it's completion. You will also occasionally be required to set out for and manage smaller projects with a value below £500k while based at the larger project. At this point you will have the responsibility of providing accurate data so that projects are completed correct and in a timely fashion.

General Responsibilities Include:

Setting out of all works using a robotic total station
Liaising with main contractor's site teams
Working closely with foremen and gangers in the organisation and supervision of labour
Responsibility for all aspects of on-site H&S
Ensuring works are carried out to specification and maintaining the highest possible quality
Carrying out materials take offs
Identifying and resolving technical issues, including writing, and submitting technical queries/RFIs
Completing daily record/allocation sheets
Liaising with Quantity Surveyor on variations/site instructions Personal Skills Required:

A minimum of an HNC in civil engineering and 5 years' experience is required
Valid Driving License
Friendly and approachable
Punctual and reliable
Have a "can do/will do" attitude
