Energy Storage Systems Engineer
Location: Derbyshire / Bristol
Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 + Package
Piper Maddox are working with the world's leading Aircraft Propulsion systems design and manufacturer to find an Energy Storage Systems Engineer. The business has been operating for the last 100 years and have now embedded itself as a world-class leader for power-dense, reliable and resilient Aerospace systems. This position will immerse you in a small team of 3 that are looking to develop next-generation technology for the Aerospace industry. The work being led by this team will also be applied to other areas of the group (Marine, Power Systems, Automotive). It will also give you a chance to collaborate with R&D partners and suppliers to find cutting-edge solutions and mature them for product application. The company is going to change the future of flight, and you could be a part of this mission.
What you will be doing:
* Developing lightweight, safe and highly efficient Energy Storage Systems within a small team
* Develop System level requirements and roadmap for a number of innovative projects
* Communicate directly with customers and suppliers to outline commercially viable solutions
* Providing deep and expert technical guidance toward product design and delivery Engineers
* Collaborate in design reviews across the global team within the Energy Storage Design focused programmes
* Research and identify new technology solutions for Energy Storage System improvements
What we are looking for:
* Strong experience and understanding of Battery systems for vehicle industries (Aerospace, Automotive, Marine)
* Experience with DFM and V&V activities for Energy Storage Systems
* Familiarity working within a highly regulated environment following industry standards
* Excellent communication skills with both expert and non-expert audiences
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent discipline
