Chief Control and Instrumentation Engineer Outside IR35 - Manchester / Remote (Energy / Power)

Due to internal restructure to maximise knowledge within the business, an opportunity has arisen for a Chief Control and Instrumentation engineer to join a leading UK Construction and Engineering company.

The role is based in Manchester however, they operate a hybrid working arrangement so you will have the flexibility of working from home part of the week if you choose to do so. It is a minimum 6 month contract and is outside of scope of IR35.

As an experienced lead engineer within Control and Instrumentation you will be supporting the development of engineering / design and build phase estimates for projects and studies across Power/Energy and defence sectors.

Other areas of responsibility include achieving safe-by-design, compliant, future proofed, cost-effective, sustainable, digitally enabled C&I output and support the recruitment of staff and contract personnel, aiding the professional development of individuals and coordinate with professional institutions.

This is a Client facing role and a fantastic opportunity for an engineer who is looking for that next step, who is interested in being able to make decisions, inspire others, collaboration and upskilling across the team.

Skills and Qualifications:

UK Chartered Engineer with a history of continued professional development and robust technically focussed knowledge and ability.
Degree in relevant engineering discipline (e.g. Electronic / Electrical / Control Engineering) Apprenticeships may be considered.
Knowledge of UK regulatory framework and global best practice for areas of focus, such as cybersecurity, obsolescence and increased digitisation of client systems.
Extensive knowledge of UK legislation and standards Competence in the specification and design of Safety Instrumented systems in line with IEC 61511 and IEC 61508 Proven track record in Control & Instrumentation across a wider range of industries.
