Aqua-Tech Recruitment are delighted to be working with a leading Engineering company who specialise in the water industry. Due to various recent project wins, they are looking to grow their teams and are currently looking for Telemetry Engineers. This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing company who are already well established and highly reputable. The client is extremely forward thinking and will consider a 4-day working week after the initial probation period.

They have offices in Cumbernauld, Edinburgh, Preston and Inverness with extremely flexible working arrangements.

As a Telemetry Engineer you will be Working within a multi-disciplinary team on projects primarily in the water & wastewater, power distribution and petrochemical industries. You will be working as part of a friendly team where input is valued and recognised, the client is looking for team players who can help fulfil its goals of growth and market penetration over the years ahead.

Job Description:

The Telemetry Engineer will install Telemetry systems and associated equipment

*

The Telemetry Engineer will configure Telemetry outstations to clients exacting requirements including RTU code, Modbus implementation and radio communication links

*

Compilation of mimics and signal configuration listings for import to Client's Top End system

*

The Telemetry Engineer will manage the Client approvals process for Telemetry mimics and signal configuration listings

*

RTU commissioning and signal end to end testing

· The Telemetry Engineer will prepare test records and RTU O&M documentation

· Learn how to carry out the installation and maintenance of telemetry systems, achieved by the delivery of external and internal training programmes and by building experience whilst working alongside our experienced senior Telemetry Engineers

· The Telemetry Engineer will be responsible for completing comprehensive site specific Telemetry signal workbooks, Telemetry mimic compilation and building RTU code/configuration files

· Working from detailed client Telemetry design documentation or, in some instances, developing Telemetry solutions from outline requirements and preparing Telemetry design packages that adhere to Clients established processes and systems of work

· Based in the office as well as on Client's sites throughout Scotland

Person Specification:

A broad range of key skills are required, including:

Bachelor's Degree/HNC/HND/ONC in Electrical, Electronic, Controls Engineering or a relevant technical engineering qualification such as SCOTVEC or City & Guilds

*

Must hold a full UK driving licence as the position involves travel throughout Scotland

*

The ability to understand general arrangement and detailed drawings

*

The ability to work independently or as part of a team

*

Strong analytical and problem solving skills

*

Ability to work efficiently in a team environment

*

Good working knowledge of Safety, Health Environment and Quality Procedures

This is a permanent role on £30-37k with scope for progression within the company.

The candidate must live within a commutable distance from Edinburgh EH17, Cumbernauld G68 or Inverness IV1
