Introduction
Astute are working with a leading Environmental and Engineering Consultancy in the renewable energy sector, who are looking for an Engineering Associate / Project Manager to join their developments team. The key responsibility for the role will be to manage the design phase of wind farm developments, providing technical support throughout, from conceptual phase to construction and delivery.

It is envisaged that the successful candidate will have a demonstrable background in electrical infrastructure design, preferably on wind farm or other renewable energy projects. Additionally, experience of designing or managing the grid connections would be a strong advantage.

Roles & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager of Engineering you will be responsible for:
Coordinate the technical projects for the development of wind farms and related electrical infrastructure.
Participate in the design of electrical infrastructure for wind farms including the connection to the national grid, working in direct coordination with other departments and grid DNOs/TSOs.
Preparing the necessary documentation for grid access and connection applications, along with grid code compliance.
Provide technical advice to other departments in support of tendering, responding to requests for proposals and bidding operations.
Ensuring compliance at all levels, within company, industry and legislative standards.

Skills & Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
A demonstrable background in the design and delivery of wind farm developments and infrastructure projects to completion. Including full life cycle, from conception through to hand over.
Experience of working with high voltage infrastructure such as substations would also be a strong advantage.
Experience with Grid Feasibility and connections - working with DNO/TSO from the National Grid.
Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering / Power Systems Engineering or similar is essential.
Excellent organisational, written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent autonomy and decision making or problem solving.
Due to hybrid working rotation (3 days in office, 2 wfh) the successful candidate must be in a commutable distance of Edinburgh. Additionally, due to the nature of the works the ability and willingness to travel for site visits is essential.

Starting salary up to £70,000 depending on experience
