One of my clients is looking to make a strategic hire for one of their structures team based in London. The Associate Structural Engineer will play a key role in proactively motivating project teams to deliver technical excellence and providing commercial leadership for high profile projects for blue chip clients.

A dynamic and ambitious Associate is sought to join this reputable firm.

This role will be to assist one of the Directors with the running of current and pipeline projects in the London office of this well-established design consultancy.

You will be responsible for hands on design, representing the firm to high-profile clients, running projects, managing a design team and taking fiscal project responsibility.

You will be reporting directly to a Director. This will be a high-profile role with longer term opportunity for progression and advancement for the right candidate.

Key requirements for this candidate -

· A respected and credible and professional Chartered Structural Engineer (MIStructE or MICE) with significant experience and knowledge of building design

· Sector knowledge including retail, leisure, residential, commercial and healthcare

· Extensive refurbishment, repurposing and new-build experience

· Extensive experience of all common building materials

· Significant technical experience and proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects

· A genuine interest in environmental matters and an understanding of embodied carbon and its application in structural design

· Ability to confidently manage clients' expectations

· Effective communicator both internally and externally

· Advanced problem-solving capabilities

· Working on own initiative with energy and drive

· Build and maintain existing, and develop new, Client relations

· Ability to represent the practice at Senior level

· Technical capabilities to include TEDDS, Tekla Structural Designer and FEM design software. SCIA Engineer FEM design software experience will be an advantage

· Knowledge and experience of using British Standards & Eurocodes

· Team leadership skills

· Ideally an interest in developing staff training and mentoring junior staff

The successful candidate must have a proven track record of relevant experience coupled with a genuine desire to progress
