Due to continued growth within the Geotechnical team in our Edinburgh team, we are looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineering based in our new Edinburgh office located in the city centre. You will have the freedom to push boundaries, develop new skills and work on some of the current high profile projects, from major urban development, energy, distilleries etc.

The Opportunity

This Senior Geotechnical Engineer is to be based in our brand-new city centre location within 5 mins of Edinburgh Waverley Station. The role is with in a multi project, multidiscipline i.e., Transport, Rail and Energy. You will be expected to do geotechnical analysis and design, site supervision, production of drawings, specifications, and reports. Mentoring and supervising more junior members of the team when required. You will have regular contact with external agencies and site investigation contractors. Within this role you will also developing contacts with Clients

Is this role right for you?
  • Strong experience in geotechnical analysis and design. Background in Finite Element Design (FE) and numerical analysis would be a benefit
  • MEng or good Civil Engineering-based degree with post graduate qualification in a geotechnical related subject, preferably Soil Mechanics. Chartered with the relevant body or close to attaining Chartered status
  • Experience in leading the management and interpretation of ground investigations in a civil engineering consultancy.
  • Able to quickly develop successful client relationships (both internal and external)
  • Good communications skills (verbal technical report writing in English). Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills
  • Able to turn hand to other work when the opportunities arise
