As an integral part of the day-to-day operations of the VSMP, the successful candidate will apply engineering practices and SWM regulations in conducting complex, advanced-level SWM plan review, and process VSMP permit applications. Field work may periodically be necessary as well, along with other related duties as assigned. Attention to detail, accurate record keeping and a thorough knowledge of Best Management Practice (BMP) design, hydrology and hydraulics, general drainage concepts, and the County's local SWM program and state requirements will be essential in carrying out these duties.

The successful candidate will be well organized and exhibit a high level of self-motivation, interpersonal skills and integrity, and will work well within a collaborative team environment. They will be able to communicate ideas clearly, concisely and effectively, both orally and in writing, as well as establish and maintain effective relationships with fellow employees, County officials, contractors and the general public. The successful candidate will also excel in areas such as communication, continuous learning, customer-focused service, dependability, flexibility, interpersonal skills, leadership, planning and organization, reasoning and problem solving, and teamwork.

Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a four-year college or university accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technologies with coursework related to stormwater management, or three (3) years of stormwater management design or review experience.
