Geo-Environmental Engineer

A Geo-Environmental Engineer position has come available in Newcastle upon Tyne for an engineer with a good fundamental knowledge of the industry that is now looking to step into a role supporting the delivery of large scale complex contaminated land and brown field developmen projects from inception through to completion for a well-respected multi-disciplinary consultancy.

Your responsibilities as a Geo-Environmental Engineer will include both aspects of geo-environmental and geotechnical delivery or focus on one particular area. Typical responsibilities will surround; project management, financial forecasting, tenders/bids, phase 1's, designing GI's, interpretive reporting, remedial methods, risk assessments, validations and onsite remedial monitoring.

Although you will come in as a Geo-Environmental Engineer, you will be working across disciplines and assessing ground conditions to give geotechnical recommendations, earthwork specifications, and calculating settlements and bearing capacity for large scale commercial developments.

To progress as a Geo-Environmental Engineer, you must:

Obtain a 2:1 In Geology, Environmental Science or Geotechnics. Ideally with an MSc.
At least 2 years experience within a Geo-Environmental/Geotechnical Consultancy or Contractor
Experience managing Ground investigations using various drilling techniques
Experience report writing, ideally interpretive.
