I am looking to speak with a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer in Durham with experience in site investigation to join a dynamic well respected Geotechnical Contractor, joining a rapidly expanding team. You will have the opportunity to work on a mixture of schemes including residential, commercial, rail, public sector infrastructure projects and coal mining assessments.
As a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer your responsibilities include, phase 1 preliminary desk studies, designing and undertaking site investigations for brownfield and contaminated land projects, providing solutions for foundation design, earthworks design, soil mechanics and slope stability analysis.
Graduate Geotechnical Engineer will get involved in projects management, tenders and bids, designing GI's, remedial methods, risk assessments, validations, and onsite remedial monitoring.
To progress as a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer, you must:
Obtain a 2:1 In Geology or Geotechnics. Ideally with an MSc in Engineering Geology.
Between 6 months and 2 years experience within a Geo-Environmental/Geotechnical Consultancy or Contractor
Experience managing Ground investigations using various drilling techniques
Experience report writing, ideally interpretive.
