We successfully deliver complex turnkey engineering projects in sectors such as Process & Water, Energy, Defence, Oil & Gas and Nuclear.
We offer clients a range of services including design, manufacturing, installation, construction and commissioning. Our in-house design and offsite manufacturing teams work closely to develop technology-based solutions with a strong focus on innovation and value engineering.
Our in-house multi-disciplinary services include civil, process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control and automation, supplemented by the design and manufacture of Control Panels, MCCs, PLCs, SCADA and automation systems. We also provide a range of bespoke modular and containerised water & wastewater treatment and fuel conditioning systems.
We have over 800 employees and with a healthy forward order book with a projected turnover of £180m this year, it is an exciting time to join the business.
We have an requirement to appoint a Graduate Project Engineer in Summer 2023 to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team on projects primarily in the UK water and wastewater industries, based at our site office in Havant.
Role & Responsibilities
Graduate Scheme
The Trant Graduate Scheme is offered to all Graduates joining the business. This a period of training and development over 24 months, where you are assigned a mentor to carry out basic training associated with your discipline to enable you move from a Graduate Engineer, to a Junior Engineer to a fully competent Engineer.
After completion of the 6 week induction, you will join your engineering teams (being guided by your mentor) and will become competent in carrying out engineering tasks. At 12 months, you will have commenced working on your professional review Initial Professional Development (IPD) and will be actively engaged in the Professional Forum. At this time you should be ready to work independently as a Junior Engineer and by 24 months you should be classified as an Engineer and likely to be mentoring your own first year Graduate.

- Attend internal and external design review and progress meetings
- Produce and review Civil design documentation
- Produce specifications and outline designs
- Procurement of Electrical & Mechanical Equipment and support for subcontract procurement
- Ensure that site installation works and quality match both design and appropriate industry standards
- Record and Review as-built information
- Production of Risk Assessments and Method Statements
- Programme Updates
- Procurement schedules

- BEng (Hons) or MEng Civil Engineering
- Knowledge and awareness of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality
- IT literate
- Full driving licence
