Product Manager (Civil Engineering - Construction Products) - Hertfordshire, UK (with option of hybrid/homeworking)

A new vacancy for an experienced Product Manager - Civil Engineering with leading provider of specialist services to Construction product developers, manufacturers and installers. Following a 2yr period of business transformation and restructuring the company is now looking to launch a range of innovative new products & services, and the Product Manager - Civil Engineering will play a key role in the successful realization of these plans.

Role Purpose:
  • To own products in life and to set the annualised business case for all products in the role owner's portfolio.
  • To work closely with the New Product Development Lead to identify opportunities and develop new product areas and ensure they are mobilised effectively.
  • To work with operational teams to ensure that all products are fully operational to deliver a first-class service to clients.

Candidate Profile:
  • Experienced Product Manager from a Civil Engineering background with proven track record in the development of new business opportunities & markets in the Construction Products arena.
  • Used to working closely with product development function and liaising with test houses and/or certification bodies.
  • An understanding of, and ability to develop, business plans and strategy.
  • A good basic understanding of the legislation, codes & industry practice which has bearing on the product area - network of industry contacts.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Working with internal stakeholders and external parties to lead on the annualised business case for all products in role holder's portfolio, including any related products and services.
  • Responsible for the overall achievement of revenue, profit, business outlook for future years and change programme's to secure future business plans. Guiding the business and being accountable for the delivery of the year's plan.
  • To complete the appropriate analysis including capturing all costs, benefits, assumptions, risks and options. To ensure business cases include business drivers, financial metrics and scope.
  • Identify and gain business sign off for the product revenue and profit targets, including how the target will be delivered by detailed sales types and customers.
