We have an exciting new opening for a Vice President of Engineering, Transport to manage and develop a growing organisation that delivers world-class electrification solutions for commercial and industrial Electric Vehicles; featuring Power Electronics, Energy Storage, Electric Motors and Thermal Management systems. Successful applicants will be required to develop and lead an agile, results-oriented team to deliver industry-leading products that solve our customers problems and deliver a transformative impact on climate change. Work covers all parts of the hardware development lifecycle, from new ideas and concepts, requirements capture, and design, to final testing and production launch.

Role Responsibilities
The Vice President of Engineering, Transport will report directly to General Manager, Transport and functionally to Turntide's Global Chief Transformation Officer, and will work alongside business leaders and other stakeholders to deliver the engineering groups strategic objectives, including:
- Lead and develop a team of 120+ engineers developing Electrification products and technology across 3 locations in the North East, including Electrical, Mechanical, Software and Test & Validation Engineering
- Be responsible for New Product Development for Power Electronics, Energy Storage and Motors & Thermal Management systems, delivering to aggressive schedules, on-budget and with a right-first-time approach
- Implement and support the rollout of modern design and validation methodologies, tools and project delivery processes
- Develop and support a culture of collaboration, transparency, customer- and results-orientation
- Develop a world-class engineering organization through coaching and mentoring of internal talent and recruiting to address key gaps around domains expertise and scale
- Collaborate with Product Management, Marketing, Sales, and Operations teams to synthesise product and technology roadmaps that deliver long-term profitable growth
- Manage project pipeline to ensure team focus, including a balance between new product delivery and innovation
- Deliver technology roadmaps that will delivery high-value IP that supports highly differentiated portfolio in the long-term
- Engage in cross-organizational activities for functional leadership, shared learning, IP reuse and company-wide engineering capability development
Experience and skills
The role requires the following experience and skills.
- Significant hands-on experience developing complex hardware & software systems, from product concept through production
- Significant progressive experience leading engineering teams in a highly technical field. Global experience would be considered an advantage.
- Track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment and an ability to achieve results and make decisions even where there is ambiguity
- Experience in safety-critical standards and requirements (e.g. ISO26262, ASIL-D) is considered an advantage
- Strong business acumen and proven record of successfully working closely with key customers

Qualifications
- The role requires a minimum BEng or BSc in Engineering, preferably with Electrical or Hardware Engineering focus; an MSc/MEng or PhD would be considered an advantage.
