Morrison Water Services is currently looking to recruit a Civil Design Engineer to work on our DV2 contract in Stepps office, Glasgow.
As the Civil Design Engineer, you will be responsible for undertaking Civil engineering designs and managing Civil CAD resources to deliver detailed design solutions on water and wastewater non infrastructure.
As the Civil Design Engineer your duties & responsibilities will be:

Provide a key role of technical designer working along with other disciplines on large and multiple projects, or programmes of smaller projects, where appropriate.
Prepare design information as required to take the design through the preconstruction stage.
Liaison with modelling engineers, survey specialists with ability to inteperate reports following GI/ GPR etc including liaison with internal estimation and costing where required. Follow up liaison with construction delivery teams.
Ensuring that design information conforms to Scottish Water Standards & Specifications, CESWI 7th edition universal and relevant specifications for civil engineering contracts.
Preparation of H&S and documentation for review and sign off.
Undertaking the duties of Designer under the CDM Regulations.
Ability to manage your project workload to programme, cost and quality requirements.
Relevant technical skills for the water industry - e.g., Process equipment knowledge, water and wastewater processes, general structure hydraulics, pipeline hydraulics, civil engineering design, construction techniques, buildability assessments, understanding of other engineering disciplines.
Understanding of the application, benefits, and limitations of a wide range of solutions to problems - for example both traditional engineering solutions and sustainable solutions.Skills & Knowledge Requirements

Relevant technical skills for the water industry - e.g., Pressure systems, pipeline hydraulics, civil engineering design and an understanding of other engineering disciplines
Significant understanding of construction and operational requirements within civil design
Significant understanding of the application, benefits, and limitations of a wide range of solutions to problems
Ability to manage teams and provide mentorship to your team members
Working towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status with CIWEM, the ICE, IEI or equivalentAdditional Information
