Organisational Background

You will join a world-wide corporate real estate management organisation with an ambition to reduce environmental impact, and drive best sustainable practises in the real estate sector. By adopting science-based greenhouse gas emission reduction targets (decarbonisation plan by 2040; Net Zero).

We are looking for an Energy Engineer to join a UK team of 2,500 employees, whereas the global team counts 100,000 employees. Their collective goal is to help companies to improve facility operation, reduce costs, provide expert facilities management, carry out project management and provide energy and sustainability services for world class clients.

Responsibilities

Your main purpose is to coordinate multi-workstream projects spanning various aspects of a clients sustainability platform to achieve energy efficient facilities. This can involve creating project plans, delegating tasks and deliverables to colleagues, and providing ultimate oversight and review of deliverables.
Prepare or revise client communications for sustainability performance aligned to key industry reporting platforms, such as CDP, DJSI, GRI, GRESB.
Undertaking energy and technical decarbonisation surveys across sites.
Calculating potential savings streams in terms of kWh (Electric energy), GHG (Emissions), CO2e (Carbon dioxide equivalent) and costs.
Develop, measure, monitor, report and analyse; energy consumption, carbon emissions inventories, water footprints, waste footprints and emission factor development.

Requirements

Extensive knowledge of principle and technologies which support efficient use of energy.
Extensive working knowledge of BMS and control theory.
Up to date knowledge of corporate energy strategy, legal statutory, Net Zero and technical issues. Which affect the client's premises and operations.
Understand the principles behind HVAC, Refrigeration, Lighting and system design / integration.

Previous Experience

Current benchmark techniques and statistical analysis.
Project management.
Ability to present and articulate investment business case to a senior client level.
Preparing fully costed energy efficiency proposals and reports.
Ability to carry out full energy surveys and feasibility studies of energy technologies
Knowledge of customer operations, business drivers, financials and specialist sources of information, legislative requirements where necessary.
Facility Management (Desirable)

Qualifications

Degree Energy related qualification or equivalent in Building Services Engineering or equivalent.
Relevant professional membership e.g. CIBSE, Energy Institute etc.
Working knowledge of M&T software.
ESOS (or other EU equivalent) Lead Assessor or Registered Auditor in relevant EMEA countries (Desirable).
Chartered Engineer in Building services Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical and related subjects (Desirable).
Certification in energy, for example, NABERS or LEED (Desirable).
