We are working with a leading company within the construction and infrastructure industry who are looking for a a Geotechnical Engineer to work in there infrastructure services based in Coventry.
Purpose Of The Role:
Reporting to a Project Manager, the successful applicant will be joining an experienced and enthusiastic GI Operations team at our Maidstone office and will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of ground investigation and geotechnical services to our wide ranging client base predominantly located in the South East and London.
General Responsibilities:
* Confident and knowledgeable of ground investigation techniques
* Prepare health & safety documentation prior to and during the site works phase, as well as assisting with the managing the health & safety of operatives and promoting a safe working environment
* Logging of soil and rock in accordance with the specification and BS5930:2015
* Keeping accurate field records of tasks performed
* Act as a Site Engineer or a support role, supervising multiple activities and staff for short and longer term projects
* Performing in‐situ testing and sampling in accordance with the specification and current technical standards
* Liaise with clients/engineers/main contractors throughout the site works phase
* Managing and collating site data using company software systems
* Assist in the compilation of monthly financial project accounts.
* Be able to write factual reports

* Treat internal clients with the same respect as external clients respect
* Respect the knowledge of colleagues and clients
* Listen to the views and opinions of others
* Always be polite and courteous

* Improve skills, knowledge and experience wherever possible to the mutual benefit of the client, CLIENT and the individual
* Question things which are not understood to improve individual performance and that of CLIENT ownership
* Take responsibility for delivering clients requirements
* Deliver tasks to the best of one's ability at all times
* Take pride in delivering excellent service
Desirable:
* Experience working in dynamic office environment.
* Awareness and ability to implement health, safety and environmental legislation
* Full UK driving licence
* Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
* Good attention to detail
* Mobility, flexibility and commitment
