Graduate Geotechnical Engineer
Northampton
Overview
We are working with an SME Ground Investigation Company who are looking to expand and have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer based in Northampton.
Our client is a mix of environmental and geotechnical specialists operating out of four offices across the UK. They work on a wide range of projects from multi-level basements in central London to footbridges in Northern Scotland.
Working directly for the geotechnical director you will be supported towards professional chartership giving you the opportunity to excel and develop to your full potential.
Description
Undertaking desk studies and scoping of ground investigations.
Interpretation of ground investigation data including development of ground model with derivation of geotechnical parameters and presentation of ground risks.
Modelling and outline design of various geotechnical scenarios using industry recognized software packages.
Production of ground investigation reports in accordance with EC7.
Technical supervision of ground investigations and validation of construction activities
Liaison with the client and wider project team members to develop best-value solutions clearly communicating ground risks and mitigation options.
The Successful Applicant
Essential:
Strong academic background with a degree in civil / geotechnical engineering or similar.
Team player with good communication skills
Positive problem solving attitude
Proficient with MS Office (Word and Excel)Desirable:
Engineering or construction related experience
Experience of geotechnical design software

Salary £23,000 - £26,000
