Our Client, a World recognised and respected Automotive OEM Manufacturer based in rural Warwickshire is actively seeking an experienced Environmental & Sustainability Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. On offer to the successful candidate is a negotiable basic salary, (albeit based on relevant experience), along with their full benefits package.

You will oversee all aspects of environmental and sustainability data management strategy. Working with their senior environmental engineer to ensure all environmental compliance requirements are met. Supporting the continued certification to ISO 14001:2015 standard. Be a focal point for company's NetZero strategy by providing insight on current performance and predicting future trends. Supporting the attainment of ISO 50001 and PAS 2060 certifications.

Key Duties & Responsibilities (but not limited to):
You will support the planning and co-ordination of activities to ensure continued certification to ISO 14001 standard.
Superintend data collection strategy to identify, collect, analyse and report Scope1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 GHG data for company's annual financial and sustainability reports using GRI standards and GHG Protocol.
You will develop tools and methods to harvest, continuously update and communicate environmental and sustainability data to provide sustainability insights and influence environmental strategy using excel, python and other tools.
Work with leadership teams to advance company's NetZero ambitions by driving energy, carbon, and cost reduction across all sites through employee engagement, behavioural change, and project management.
Provide relevant information on company's sustainability performance to their stakeholders, investors, and other interested parties such SMMT, FTSE4GOOD, CDP, Sustainalytics etc.
Maintain the environmental department's budget, raise purchase orders and document all revenue and expenditure.
Automate repetitive activities to increase the efficiency of the environmental department.
Co-ordinate the environmental internal audit program to ensure that the company meets its compliance objectives.
Define, set up and monitor Beacon audits and provide insight on performance to drive environmental improvements.
Create and maintain the environmental SharePoint site and ensure documents are easily accessible to all interested parties.
Manage the environmental emergency response testing program including chairing of meetings for the emergency response committee to ensure environmental emergency readiness across the company.
Increase company's sustainability disclosures to relevant standards and support the achievement of ISO 50001 & PAS 2060 certifications.
Attend and participate in strategic ESG working group meetings to drive water and waste savings across the business
Qualification & Experience (you will ideally possess):
You will have a degree in an environmental, science or engineering discipline. Ideally, along with a relevant postgraduate qualification (albeit, not essential).
Member of a relevant professional body is desirable
Previous experience working within Environmental activities.
Good understanding of the ISO14001:2015 standard.
Previous experience ensuring compliance with Environmental legislation and permits.
You will therefore, have great understanding of environmental legislation connected to energy and sustainability.
Good communications skills and the ability to write clear, concise, and accurate reports.
Experience in leading continuous improvement projects and activities.
Experience using Energy and Carbon Management software.
Advanced Data analysis skills, as well as data visualisation skills using Power BI, Tableau etc.
Excellent IT skills (Microsoft office: Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.)
Good written & oral communication to cross functional levels of the organisation.
