Structural Engineer

Singh & Jones are working with a well established Structural Engineering Consultancy, who have a global appeal and are working on some high end projects. As a ever growing business, my client are keen to strengthen their commercial team by recruiting an experienced Senior Structural Engineer, with a core focus on light gauge steel projects and SFS projects. The position can be based from home a few days a week with occasional travel in to my clients London and Midlands office once a week.

The role will be reporting to the Technical Director and your duties will include

* Analyse configurations of the basic and detailed components of Build Structures

* Producing Thermal U Value calculations

* Being able to draw up condensation risk assessment using 2D/3D Software's

* Calculate the pressures, stresses and strains that each component, such as a beams and frames

* Using Flixo, MathCAD, TEDDS, Tekla Structural Designer and alternative software's

* Using expertise to advise on structural designs and variations

* Liaise with other designers, including architects and main contractors

* Advise and liaise with the design teams on specifications and computer models using AutoCAD and Tekla

* Liaise with construction contractors to ensure that newly erected buildings are structurally sound

* Apply expert knowledge of the forces that act on various structures

* Lead and mentor junior staff

The role of a Senior Structural Engineer will consolidate of coming from a similar background in off site construction and modular build. You will have a minimum of 5 years post graduate experience. Having a strong academic background, with a BSc/MSc in Structural or Civil Engineering is a paramount for this role. Being Chartered as a ICE or IStrucTE Engineer will be advantageous for this role
