About the role
We're currently recruiting for a Civil Engineer who is interested in a career within the design team in our Transmission & Distribution division. Youll receive on the job training and work towards providing specialist advice, designs, reports, and engineering input across a portfolio of projects.

This role gives enthusiastic, ambitious professional engineers a real opportunity to work on major infrastructure energy projects across the UK, Ireland and Europe. Our design teams are directly contributing to the countrys renewable goals, working on major energy infrastructure to help our clients meet the international net zero targets. Current projects within our team involve major renewable energy connections including wind, solar, nuclear and hydro, as well as hydrogen. Clients include National Grid, SSE, Eirgrid, NIEN, as well as developers in the renewable and hydrogen industries.

We work closely with our clients to ensure their projects are delivered from development design to detailed design and construction. The industry is forever changing, ensuring stimulating, challenging projects are at the core of what we do. The candidate will be led by experienced teams of civil, structural and industry specific electrical and process engineers, working on projects controlled to the current BIM standards. The role offers agile working options, with various opportunities to travel between our offices and client sites.

Candidate Specification

About you
  • Degree qualification in Civil or Structural al Engineering and working towards CEng
  • Working knowledge of appropriate International Standards and Codes of Practice;
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, policies and procedures applicable to the preparation of designs and specifications.
  • Ability to coordinate between disciplines and capacity to own and deliver design tasks
  • Experience working on design tasks, delivering these on general civil schemes (earthworks, access, drainage, foundations, structures and general civils design)
  • Ability to interface with client and project team
  • Ability to work on a range of tasks including design calculations, specifications, 2D drawings, 3D models, site information gathering and site visits

Desirable but not essential:
  • Drainage/highways experience
  • Microdrainage and civil 3D capacity
  • Knowledge of transmission & distribution industry

Together we provide integrated engineering and project management services across the project lifecycle from concept and design, to construction and operations, to decommissioning or repowering and life extension.
