We are looking to recruit a talented Principal Drainage Engineer to join our growing Infrastructure team in the south-east of England working on a variety of exciting projects for a diverse range of clients and sectors. As a Principal Drainage Engineer you will combine managerial duties and technical delivery, promote a collaborative approach and take a leading role in delivering drainage/ flood risk projects to quality, budget and timescales. You will be offered, and be expected to take on, a high degree of autonomy and responsibility and able to contribute to further growing the Infrastructure team's profile and work portfolio through successful bidding and enhanced reputation. #LI-AA1

Candidate Specification

As a Civil Engineering or Drainage professional, you will have experience in designing drainage solutions for various infrastructure projects using software such as MicroDrainage and AutoDesk Civil3D. You will be comfortable interpreting industry design and standards and guidance such as Sewers for Adoption, DMRB and CIRIA C753. With your commercial experience, youll be able to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams as well as lead and oversee a design team.

You will also be able to demonstrate the following:
  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer with a professional institution
  • Understanding of the use of design tools within a BIM environment
  • Experience managing programmes and resources to deliver projects to quality, budget and timescales
  • Eager to learn and to develop your skills and career with training support.
  • Although not essential, any experience as Bid or Project Manager would be desirable.

Job Profile
Our Buildings & Cities Unit are looking to recruit a Senior Drainage Engineer to join our growing Infrastructure team in the south-east of England. The candidate shall be ideally based out of one of our offices in Croydon, London, Norwich or Cambridge with agile working opportunities. However, we shall consider placement in other UK locations if required for the right candidate.

Our successful and dynamic team is involved in a wide range of projects ranging from master planning and site appraisal, feasibility studies, detailed design and site supervision across a broad range of disciplines including highways, utilities, drainage & flood risk, external works, LRT and rail civils working for clients in multiple sectors, including Transport, Built Environment, Defence and Water.

The role offers the opportunity to contribute to further growing the Infrastructure teams profile and work portfolio through successful bidding and enhanced reputation. You will be able to develop skills and progress your career working as a part of a team of innovative engineers and specialists.

About the business unit
The Buildings and Cities (BNC) Unit has a major presence in Mott MacDonald's regional offices throughout the UK and mainland Europe, providing a wide range of diverse and transferable cross-sector skills across five key sectors; Advisory, Built Environment, Energy, Transportation and Water.
