Junior Geotechnical Design Engineer

A UK leading, international engineering consultancy are looking for a highly skilled and solution focused Graduate Geotechnical Design Engineer in Milton Keynes.

The successful candidate will join an expanding Geotechnical team of experts and will benefit by being mentored by a PhD Geotechnical engineer. You will be working on a broad scope of projects across residential, commercial, industrial and mining sectors.

Our client is looking for an eager and ready to learn candidate who is educated to degree level in a relevant discipline such as Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering. It would be highly beneficial to have a strong understanding of site investigation, ground engineering and geotechnical design.

The main responsibilities of the role include:

• Analysis and design of slopes, water retaining structures, retaining walls, earthworks, and foundations
• Geotechnical modelling and design
• Ground modelling and mining risk assessments
• Phase 1 Desk Studies
• Supervising site investigations
• Logging and sampling of soils and rocks
• Writing Geotechnical Interpretive Reports, Geotechnical Design Reports and Earthworks Specifications
