Materials Buyer - Civil Engineering/Construction

We are currently recruiting for a Materials Buyer for a well renowned regional civil engineering contractor based in Cardiff.

The company have been in operation for over four decades and during this period, they have forged a solid client base and reputation.

The opportunity requires a capable and experience buyer to join the team and have sole responsibility for purchasing of materials.

Therefore, this would suit an individual with a proven background within the civil engineering/construction sector.

Reporting directly to the Commercial Manager, this is a key role for the continued success of the business and the company are able to offer

Role & Responsibilities

* Be responsible for the procurement of materials, subcontractors and goods for various construction programmes

* Advise on strategy, plan and execute procurement strategies

* Work closely with existing suppliers, as well as engaging with new suppliers

Experience & Requirements

* Will ideally have experience of working within the civil engineering/construction or related industry

* Should have experience of suppliers such as Merchants & Wholesalers

* Proven experience within a similar position
