This position is one of seven Supervisors on the SWM management team and will oversee a newly formed work group in SWM. This new group will play a key role in the overall success of SWM’s capital improvement program and be responsible for administering construction contracts, performing construction inspection, and acquiring property and property rights. Primary responsibilities of this Supervisor position include:
- Supervising a team of seven staff including: assigning and evaluating work, leading staff meetings, supporting professional development, and maintaining a cohesive workplace culture in a hybrid work environment
- Developing a culture of collaboration and cooperation with SWM project managers in the development of effective bid packages, property acquisition, and construction inspection.
- Ensuring team who develop construction bid packages follow proper standards, regulations, technology, etc. to maintain efficient and effective operations.
- Leading a team of construction inspection professionals to oversee implementation of SWM capital improvement projects (~$5-15M annually)
- Coordinating team who acquires properties and property rights for capital projects while providing excellent communication to the public
- Developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal and state laws, county ordinances, and other regulations and guidelines
- Coordinating with other divisions and offices within the department and promoting partnerships and collaboration with other county departments and programs
- Participating in 11-person SWM management team that prepares and executes division-wide strategic plans and initiatives
