Find out what Emily, one of our Trainee Civil Engineers, does on a day-to-day basis
In the office, I read through all the construction drawings and schedules so I can understand what work is needed on site and when different stages need to be completed by. I give the people working on site permits so they can perform their work safely. I set up the equipment I need to use to do checks on their work so that the ground is dug to the right level and that the concrete is poured to the right height. I also keep a diary so the people working in the office know whats happening on site. I get to work with other engineers and surveyors doing this and they are really helpful and fun.
