Project Management interns with Gessner Engineering assist with projects throughout the full lifecycle of the project. Project Management Interns aid Project Coordinators and Project Managers to ensure project success and predictable client experience by following the Project Framework in conjunction with project strategy.

Responsibilities 

  • Daily coordination with user, owner, and design team
  • Providing support in relationship development of internal and external clients
  • Assists with Construction Administration tasks including
  • Preparation/routing of contract documents (ASI, RFI, Submittals, etc…) including maintaining team accountability.
  • Participate in meetings (OAC, construction progress meetings)
  • Schedule and facilitate inspections and observations
  • Performs discipline cross coordination/BIM coordination
  • Monitoring of projects, including budgets, schedules and invoicing
  • Learning and growing through application and practice

 

Education/Licensure

  • Pursuing a Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Science, Project Management, or other relevant area of study.
  • Alternative: relevant workforce experience in lieu of a degree

Skills & Experience

Required:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A desire to grow and develop yourself and others
  • Solutions-minded, collaborative, and self-initiating
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills
  • Capable of working at least 30 hours a week during the summer

Preferred:

  • Experience with Bluebeam
  • Experience with Construction Management Software like Procore, BIM 360, or E-Builder
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite programs
  • Experience working with a team of technical experts (Engineers, Architects, Code Specialists)
  • Experience and familiarity with developing and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and other related documents
