Ethan James Group are looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance Engineer to develop within the BMS & Energy Team for a large site in Brighton.

The M&E Maintenance Engineer will be part of the Building Services Team, and will be responsible for optimising the energy performance of M&E (mechanical and electrical) building services assets across a large estate. This role will collaborate with the Sustainability Team to identify, implement and monitor energy saving initiatives to support a Net Zero objective.

The role will be both hands-on and office based to improve the performance and condition of the M&E building services. They will be responsible for the controls systems, and will be expected to carry out repairs and replacement of building plant where required. They will work closely with the sites appointed BMS and other specialist contractors to improve and maintain of the energy performance of the buildings and systems.

Main areas of responsibility:

* The operation and maintenance of the Building Management Systems (Trend and Sigma) across the site, including responding to alarms, fault finding and scheduling to ensure the optimum performance of plant.

* Work in partnership with the BMS contractor to ensure the BMS is fully operational, including reviewing planned maintenance and reactive repairs, and undertaking minor repairs and replacement of equipment.

* Collaborate with the Building Services and Sustainability Teams to identify, implement and monitor energy saving initiatives and solutions.

* Working with colleagues in the Estates and Facilities Team (Engineers, Surveyors, Project Managers) to assist with producing asset specifications and life-cycle strategies.

* Work alongside appointed HVAC contractors to optimise the energy efficiency of building systems
