An exciting opportunity for a Senior or Principal Design Engineer (civils) to join an established and busy in house design team specialising in civil, electrification and utilities engineering projects in the infrastructure sectors.

This opportunity can be either freelance or PAYE.

Having secured a number of long term Frameworks with key clients, Equate Design are further expanding our Design team with Senior Design Engineers who can lead a small team of Engineers and CAD techs to deliver on works. We have a number of positions available at various levels for design professionals who are committed to delivering the optimum design solution, building on their experience, and furthering their professional development.

Projects can typically include Rail works, ancillary civils, station and depot structures, platform extensions, substation works, drainage, cable routes and other civils, structural and electrical works.

The Senior/Principal Design Engineer will be expected lead the design team and to work within a multi discipline design and engineering services team, specifically working on drainage and general civils works including rail, structures/buildings and other infrastructure works.

The Engineer shall perform a variety of design activities working with both 2D and 3D design, including input into Technical Specifications, Performance Specifications, Written Reports (Design and Feasibility), production of Technical Design Drawings (2D and 3D), preparation of design packs for interdisciplinary design checks / reviews, preparation of Approved for Construction design packages and production of As-Built Information. Other duties to be undertaken as assigned / needed

Here's What You'll Need:

Qualifications:

* Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline - Civil Engineering

* Member or actively working towards Professional Membership of an applicable engineering institution (e.g. ICE, etc.)

* Experience of Temporary Works design, Trench design and Crane pad design

* Experience of working with design software including: MicroStation and AutoCAD 2D & 3D.

* Railway experience with both, Network Rail (required) and London Underground (preferred)

* Experience in common data environment (CDE) use and administration (i.e. ProjectWise)

* Good knowledge of railway and general civil engineering standards including Eurocodes, BS, NR, RSSB, TSI

* You must have the permanent right to work in the UK at the time of hire.
