The Structural Engineer role is based at HMNB Clyde.

As the Ministry of Defence's commercial partner at HMNB Clyde, Babcock provides specialist engineering support services, including the management of infrastructure and nuclear facilities. We also deliver operational maintenance, upgrades and repairs to support Royal Navy vessels, including the Vanguard and Astute-Class nuclear submarines.

The Role

As a Structural Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll be responsible for ensuring structures and facilities of HNB Clyde are up to Nuclear safety regulations.

Day to day, you'll conduct inspections on the building and civil engineering aspects of facilities across the site. You'll implement company safety, quality and environmental policies in the NSI engineering are of the business and ensure that risk assessments are carried out and adhered to.

Essential experience

* Must have structural / civil engineering background / experience
* Experience of assessing, monitoring and reporting on the condition of building structures
* Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces
* Proficient in using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
* Must have or be able to obtain the necessary level of security clearance (SC)
