Role details:

Great opportunity to join leading UK Manufacturer of Lights as Survey Engineer to work in their Surveying and Design team. It is a great opportunity for someone looking for their first role or someone looking to retrain.

Full training will be provided.

The role does require access to a car and a Full Clean Drivers Licence, as will require UK travel. There will be an opportunity to car share and you will always complete surveys with other colleagues.

Approx. 2 weeks within the month is spend on the road, visiting variety of clients working on exciting surveying projects. All expenses while travelling are covered. Other 2 weeks are based in the office in West Midlands, where you will be trained on how to carry out lighting designs and you will be helping senior teams with lighting calculations.

The office hours are 8:45am to 5pm. However, when you are surveying, these are likely to change. Specially when you are doing Light Level Verification for the train projects as the illuminance levels will need to be taken at night, you will be put in a hotel by the company, overtimes are paid.

You will always be pared up so will very rarely survey on your own. It will take around 6 months for you to be competent on this matter and another 6 months to be competent on designs. So depending on how often you are in the office, it will take you around a year to be fully competent.

This role offers great prospects of becoming a full time designer in the future, if you are exceptional and would like to make this your future career you could become Team Leader, Site Manager or even Project Manager.
