What you'll be doing:

Project Management and supervision of site characterisation and conceptualisation of potentially contaminated land
Supervising and scheduling of soil and water analysis, data management and interpretation
Designing, programming and implementing cost control of chemical/geotechnical site investigations and remediation verification including soil and hydrogeological field sampling and long-term monitoring.
Being the technical author and reviewer for proposals, interpretative site investigation reports involving qualitative and quantitative risk assessments for human health, the water environment, soil-gas and property.
Undertaking detailed Quantitative Risk Assessments with production of robust site-specific assessment criteria for human health and water environment using up to date UK & Scottish industry models
Site supervision and management of remediation and earthworks contractors
Preparing the comprehensive remediation verification reports
Negotiating and obtaining necessary approvals from the appropriate regulatory authorities
Your skills and experiences:

Degree in chemistry, geology, environmental science, or civil engineering or closely related subject
Certification under the CITB Site Managers Safety Training Scheme
Experience of site supervision of contractors and site work including soil/water sampling collection/logging, data handling, manipulation and screening
Technical report writing / DQRA / Liaison with regulators
Computer literate in MS Word, Excel, MS Project: ArcView GiS, Holebase SI, Surfer
Proven experience in financial and risk management
Working towards or attained MSc or Chartered in an appropriate discipline is desirable
