Overview:
We are looking for a chartered or near chartered structural engineer to join and help develop an established and expanding structural & civil engineering team. This role will have responsibility for providing a wide range of structural engineering services under the direction of the team Partner/Associate with the opportunity to progress towards a Team Manager role.

Responsibilities:
Report to and take direction from Partner/Associate in the Civil and Structural engineering group
Manage multiple projects from inception to completion to ensure that deliverables are issued to the project programme, to the required quality standard and within the budget and time allocation set by the Partner/Associate
Act as lead or sole designer as appropriate to the size of project
Undertake outline, scheme and detailed design as appropriate on individual projects
Check drawings and other deliverables for the project prior to issue
Supervise and mentor more junior engineers and all technician staff in the team
Prepare reports, general correspondence, etc as required in connection with the running of projects
Undertake survey inspections and produce written reports in good English on findings, set out in a logical manner with appropriate recommendations
When required by the Partner, assist other members of the Team to complete tasks, particularly in relation to meeting project deadlines
Liaise with other members of design and construction teams, both internal and external, representing the Civil and Structural Engineering Group
Assist in preparing design programmes for production deliverables
Ensure that document management and QA procedures are complied with
Qualifications:
Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
You should be a chartered or working towards becoming a chartered member of the Institution of Civil Engineers or Institution of Structural Engineers
Significant design experience on building structures projects in UK
Experience of leading a team including junior engineers and technicians
Competent and reliable designer in structural steelwork, reinforced concrete, masonry and timber
Experience of refurbishment and change of use designs as well as new build work
Experience in working with listed and other heritage buildings would be desirable.
Familiar and empathetic with all forms of building construction
Able to produce written reports
Proficient in the use of analysis and design software (TEDDS, SCIA, Tekla etc)
Hold current UK driving licence
